Once completed, the PATH Transportation Hub at the World Trade Center will become the third largest transportation terminal in New York City, behind only Grand Central and Penn Station. The Hub will service over 200,000 daily commuters and millions of annual visitors, and will connect 11 subway lines, the PATH rail system, and the World Trade Center site in one of the most integrated network of pedestrian connections in New York City. Working with the Port Authority of NY and NJ, PATH, NYPD, and PAPD, DVS conducted a comprehensive threat and risk assessment, which included a review of threats ranging from explosives and firearms to arson and vandalism. Subsequently DVS developed the security design criteria used by the Downtown Design Partnership, a collaboration of professional services firms responsible for completing the design.
