Independence National Historical Park, as the site where the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted, anchors “America’s most historic square mile” in Philadelphia.  DVS provided security planning, programming, and engineering services for the Park, Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell Center, and Old City Hall, all part of the park campus.  DVS was originally engaged post-September 11, 2001 to provide interim protective measures, and was eventually retained to develop and engineer a series of long-term security enhancements.  Those enhancements included security screening for explosives, weapons, and other contraband, pedestrian and vehicular control, site and landscaping crime prevention through environmental design criteria.
